I’m guilty of “the evangelicals.” But it’s difficult, categories are obviously a way we understand our world and society. You can’t really analyze the state of things without them. I struggle with discerning the difference between analysis and denigration. Thoughts?
That’s the rub of the road, right? We need categories to make sense of life and our communities. We’ve crossed the line though when those in the categories become others and are the source of all of society’s ills or we attempt to strip them of their humanity.
