Every year since 2018, around the middle of November, I pick up the same book and begin reading. Advent: The Once and Future Coming of Jesus Christ by Reverend Fleming Rutledge is on my must-read list every Advent season. A few years ago I had a chance to talk with Fleming about this book.

When my former church caught on fire last year, saving this book from water damage was top on my priority list. The notes and questions I hope to one day ask Fleming that are in the margins are irreplaceable.
